GateHouse News Service Posted Dec 11, 2008 @ 02:00 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLYMOUTH — When Joyal Capital Management managing partner Gary Joyal wanted to help children in need this holiday season, he called on Dick’s Sporting Goods across the street in Colony Place to be a partner in a charitable effort. Joyal started the $100 for 100 charity through the Joyal Capital Management Foundation Inc. to give deserving students a merry Christmas. After asking for nominations of students from the Plymouth area who need extra help, 100 students were chosen to receive $100 Dick’s Sporting Goods gift cards. Saturday morning the shopping was on as the students descended on Dick’s to buy jackets, winter gloves, skateboards, bikes and skates with their gift cards while their families looked on. Joyal Capital Management Comptroller Lisa Murphy, who coordinated the event for the foundation with her assistant, Becky Croke, said the students, ranging in age from 5- to 17-years-old, had a great time shopping. “They just really loved it,” she said. “They were so cute. It was just a great experience for everybody.”  (MORE)
